Kia Sedona: Air Cleaner Repair procedures
Air Cleaner Assembly
1.
Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Cover")
2.
Remove the air duct (A).
3.
Remove the battery.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
4.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.

Disconnect the barometric pressure sensor (BPS) connector (A).
(2)
Disconnect the breather hose (B).
(3)
Disconnect the brake vacuum hose (C).
(4)
Remove the air cleaner assembly (D).
Tightening torque
Hose clamp bolt : 2.9 ~ 4.9 N.m (0.3 ~ 0.5 kgf.m, 2.2 ~ 3.6 lb-ft)
Air cleaner assembly bolts : 7.8 ~ 9.8 N.m (0.8 ~ 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 7.2 lb-ft)
5.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Air Cleaner Element
1.
Open the air cleaner element cover (A) by lifting up the air cleaner element cover handle (B).
2.
Unlock the air cleaner element camshaft (A) by turning in the direction of arrow.
3.
Replace the air cleaner element (A) with a new one.
Grab the handle (B) to pull out the air cleaner element.
4.
Lock the air cleaner element camshaft and then close the air cleaner element cover.
1.
Remove the air cleaner element.
2.
Check if the air filter is excessively dirty. If so, replace the air cleaner element.
3.
If the air cleaner element needs to be cleaned, blow compressed air as shown in the illustration to clean it.
Be fully aware of the direction of using compressed air on the air cleaner.
4.
Reinstall the air cleaner element.
