Kia Sedona: Hands free switch Repair procedures
1.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2.
Remove the driver airbag module.
(Refer to Restraint - "Driver Airbag (DAB) Module and Clock Spring")
3.
Remove the steering wheel remote control switch (A) after loosening the screw.
4.
Disconnect the steering wheel remote control switch connector (A).
1.
Install the steering wheel remote control switch after connecting the connector.
Make sure that the switch connector is plugged in properly.
2.
Install the driver airbag module.
3.
Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.
1.
Check for resistance between terminals in each switch position(LH).

Diagnosis With GDS
1.
The body electrical system can be quickly diagnosed for faulty parts using vehicle diagnostic system (GDS).
The diagnostic system (GDS) provides the following information:
(1)
Self diagnosis : Checking the failure code (DTC) and display
(2)
Current data : Checking the system input/output data state
(3)
Actuation test : Checking the system operation condition
(4)
Additional function : Other controlling such as he system option and zero point adjustment
The BCM communicates with the GDS and then reads the input/output value and drives the actuator.
2.
Select the ''Steering wheel remote control'' and the system to be checked in order to check the vehicle with the tester.
3.
Select the ''Steering wheel remote control (SWRC)'' to check the Steering wheel remote control (SWRC)
Select ''Sensor Data'' and ''Steering wheel remote control (SWRC)'' to check the Instrument Panel Module (Sensor Data).
4.
Select the "Current date" menu to search the current state of the input/output data.
The input/output data for the sensors corresponding to the ''Premium AVN'' can be checked.
Inspection
1.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2.
Remove the overhead console lamp.
